How it works

Three steps to
trade pricing

02
01

Apply for a trade account

Send us your business name and what you sell. We verify you're trading, then switch prices on. Retail buyers don't get in.

02

Browse what we actually hold

Over 150 pieces and growing, each with its own reference, full specification and Laurence's certificate. Stock changes weekly, and when a piece goes, it's gone.

03

Buy outright, or list it first

Take the piece at a fixed trade price, or list it on your own channels and we ship direct when it sells. No stock sitting in your safe.

Spend your week selling.
Not sourcing.

The hours most independents lose to fairs, auction rooms and vetting a stranger's "estate find" are hours you didn't spend in front of a customer.

The book behind it

The jeweller

Laurence

Every piece on the book is checked, restored where it needs it, and certified by Laurence himself. He has been buying and selling fine jewellery from Radlett since 1979, which is the whole reason a trade buyer can take what we say about a stone at face value.

50

Years Laurence Ian Jewellers has been buying, restoring and selling fine jewellery. Near enough.

150+

Pieces on the book and growing every week, each with its own EVC reference.

30

Days to return a trade purchase, twice the window your own customer gets.

1 of 1

Every piece. No second one behind the counter, and no reorder.

You take title, you set your own retail, and the piece is yours alone. The only way to lock a piece so nobody else can list it.

  • Fixed trade price, no negotiation theatre

Route two

List on consignment

List the piece on your own channels: Vinted, eBay, Instagram, TikTok Shop, your own site. Stock stays with us. It sells, we ship.

  • No capital tied up in stock
  • Photography and specifications supplied
  • We ship on your behalf when it sells, to you or to them
  • Non-exclusive: first order wins the piece
  • Live Available / Reserved / Sold status

Frequently asked

Questions
from the trade

07
01Do you ship outside the UK?↓

Yes. Worldwide, fully insured and tracked. Import duty and local taxes are the buyer's responsibility, and we'll tell you what paperwork a piece needs before it ships so nothing gets held at the border.

02Who authenticates the pieces?↓

Laurence, of Laurence Ian Jewellers in Radlett, who has been buying, restoring and selling fine jewellery since 1979. Each piece is checked, restored where it needs it, and issued a certificate in his name before it goes on the book.

03What happens if two of us list the same piece?↓

Consignment listing is non-exclusive, so it can happen. First order through wins the piece; everyone else sees the status flip to Sold straight away and gets a notification to pull the listing. If you need certainty, buy the piece outright. That is the only way it leaves the shared book.

04What's the return window?↓

Thirty days from delivery on trade purchases, in original condition. That's deliberately longer than the fourteen days your own customer gets under consumer cancellation rights, so a return coming back to you doesn't leave you stranded.

05Do you handle ivory and CITES material?↓

Every piece is checked for ivory and CITES-listed material before it's listed, and anything that can't be cleared doesn't go on the book. You won't be sold something you can't legally resell.

06Can I reclaim the VAT?↓

No, and no other second-hand dealer can offer it either. We're VAT registered and sell under the second-hand margin scheme, which means the invoice can't show VAT separately, so there's nothing for you to reclaim. The upside is that the price you pay is the price: no VAT is added on top.

07What does postage cost?↓

Within the UK, £12 an order, or £15 when the pieces come to £2,500 or more. Insured and tracked either way, and your invoice is emailed as soon as you check out. Outside the UK, postage depends on the destination, so we price it and send your invoice once we have. You can have the parcel sent to you, or straight to your own customer: either way it's one parcel and one postage charge.

08Can you find me something that isn't on the book?↓

Often, yes. The book is what we've restored and photographed so far, and we're buying every week. Tell us the category, the metal, the stone and roughly what you want to pay, and we'll come back to you either way. A straight no is worth more to you than being left waiting.

09Who can open an account?↓

Independent jewellery shops, online jewellers, and established resellers on Vinted, eBay, Instagram and TikTok Shop. We verify that you're trading before prices switch on. We don't sell to retail buyers.
